The Ratchet & Clank movie will not be released on Blu-ray in the UK, Lionsgate has confirmed to VideoGamer.
The film will, however, be available to download digitally in the UK from August 22 and on DVD from August 29. The DVD will RRP for £15.99.

While we don’t know the reasons for the film skipping a Blu-ray release in the UK, it does appear to be releasing on Blu-ray in other parts of the world. Amazon US, for example, currently has a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD pack available for pre-order for August 23.
It also seems to be a particularly odd decision given that most fans of the franchise will have likely played the games on PS3 or PS4 – both of which are capable of playing Blu-ray discs.
Ratchet & Clank hit theatres back in April. I haven’t yet seen it, but it didn’t do particularly well on film review site Rotten Tomatoes, where it currently has a 17% rating.
