It seems that Rare might be working on another Nintendo console, as they are advertising for a programmer and an artist for projects on the Nintendo DS. The ad for the artist says. “Imagination and motivation are all required from anyone hoping to join our Develop award-nominated team in creating key DS titles.” This suggests that Rare are working on not one, but a number of titles for the handheld system.

There is no news if the games in development will continue any existing rare franchises such as Banjo Kazooie or Blast Corps. Rare were at the peak of their popularity during their days working on the Nintendo 64, and with the DS hardware offering similar performance, perhaps they can return to their glory days.
