Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition is, funnily enough an enhanced version of Raji: An Ancient Epic. And it is out now, on PlayStation and Xbox, with a Switch version next week.
Check out the trailer for the new edition below:
The description reads:
“Raji: An Ancient Epic is an action-adventure game set in Ancient India. Raji, a young girl chosen by the gods, will stand against the demonic invasion into the human realm. Her destiny is to rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura.”
The new edition adds ray tracing into the game. And it also brings a Hindi voiceover, for a “more authentic experience.” As well as that, the new version features graphical tweaks and bug fixes. Plus, the developer, Nodding Head Games, has rebalanced the combat.
And, a new “Story” difficulty level makes the heroine, Raji, invulnerable. So, if you wish to play without the hassle of challenging combat, then you can. But, if you want a steep challenge, you also have the new “One Shot One Kill” mode.
The game first released back in 2020. And it caught my eye because of its art style—all striking colours and smooth surfaces. And it should be noted the rarity of a game with this subject matter. The story focusses on Hindu and Balinese mythology, and the architecture of Rajasthan. The art is a combination of hand-drawn Pahari style textures and 3-D models.
