When Vegas was announced, it was billed as a title coming to “next-generation and current-generation consoles.” This has now changed, with the game now coming exclusively to next-gen platforms. Ubisoft’s E3 line-up only mentions Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, so GameSpot contacted the publisher for clarification on the matter. A Ubisoft rep told the US gaming site that “All development has been shifted to next-gen platforms.“
Ubisoft has given no reason for the current-gen snubbing, but one could point towards the poor sales of the recent Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Sales of the game on Xbox 360 were very strong, but in comparison PS2 and Xbox sales have been abysmal.
Very little has been seen of Rainbow Six Vegas, but hopefully this will change at E3.
