Ubisoft has pinned a June 7 release date to Operation Para Bellum, the next major update for its squaddie-fuelled shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Those of you who forked out for the Rainbow Six Siege Season Pass will be able to get their hands on Alibi and Maestro, the update's two new operators, as soon as Para Bellum drops. For everyone else, they'll unlock on June 14.

Both characters make up the 39th and 40th operators for Rainbow Six Siege, although as you probably remember, Ubisoft's not stopping there. The publisher previously said it aims to roll out about 100 of them during the course of the game's lifecycle.

This is also one of the main reasons why Rainbow Six Siege 2 is probably never going to happen.

Meanwhile, Operation Para Bellum also coughs up a new map, Villa, which Ubisoft is trumpeting as the 'most tactical map to date.' In addition, the update also revamps the Clubhouse and gives a few operators a flashy new gadget in the shape of a bullet proof camera.

Another highlight is the custom games-available Pick & Ban system, which lets players ban a certain type of operator from a match.

Rainbow Six Siege was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in December 2015. While not a bad egg by any stretch at launch, it's come a very long way in the past few years.
