Rainbow Six Siege has embraced the April Fool's shenanigans today in a rather unique way: Ubisoft has launched a limited-time event for the shooter, titled Rainbow is Magic. In a nutshell? It turns everything a lovely shade of pink.

Yes, it's an April Fool's thing, but the event itself is real and actually runs all week. This joins Ubisoft's previous efforts with For Honor, which unleashed a bunch of rampaging Rabbids in the medieval hack-'n-slash title.

Rainbow is Magic introduces a revamped Plane map, which sees you battling to get your hands on perhaps the most important object the game has seen to date: a teddy bear. Yep, you've got to extract a cuddly toy. Brilliant!

In addition, 17 new items are up for grabs, with Smoke, Tachanka, Montagne, and Blackbeard all receiving full BDUs and headgear. Keeping in with the theme, everyone has been cutified to the rafters, and you'll find all manner of appropriately whimsical items strewn about the place, such as toys and unicorns.

To be honest, it kind of reminds me of that episode of Count Duckula, when the vegetarian duck visits Planet Cute. Everything is pink, everyone's happy, and it's all just a little bit too cute.

Rainbow is Magic is live until April 8 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, so get stuck in. Here's a couple of trailers to whet your appetite.
