The developer behind LawBreakers has announced it’ll launch its latest title, battle royale game Radical Heights, on Steam’s Early Access tomorrow.

Radical Heights fuses the gameplay you’d expect from the industry-dominating battle royale genre with a vibrant, 1980s aesthetic. The whole thing seems to be heavily inspired by The Running Man with the whole murderous game show aspect; here, players compete for cash prizes while, you know, trying to bump each other off with an array of over-the-top weapons.

Keeping in with the decade of mullets and mobile brick phones, Radical Heights will feature a variety of 80s-inspired gear, such as BMX bikes, workout trampolines, confetti bombs, and other barmy toys to get your hands on. The game will be available for $14.99 with a Founders Pack that adds ‘exclusive items and bonuses’ from tomorrow.

‘This is a five month passion project for the studio as we’re creating and publishing the game entirely by ourselves,’ commented Radical Heights’ Creative Director, Zach Lowery. ‘We’re huge fans of Battle Royale games along with the bright, inviting irreverence of the 80’s aesthetic. Because of that, we want to put our own spin on the genre and create a futuristic 80’s world that takes place in 2023 during an over-the-top game show where contestants battle it out for fame and prizes.’

Boss Key announced last week that they were moving away from LawBreakers after it failed to attract much of an audience, and it seems they’ve wasted no time in doing just that. Let’s hope they have more luck with Radical Heights, which admittedly does tickle our interest.Â
