The sequel, due in February 2006, will see players compete in over 100 championships in over 35 racing disciplines, which is apparently “more than any other racing game has ever offered.“
Disciplines include GT, Off Road, Touring Cars, Historic, Open Wheel, Rally and Oval. Players will get to drive specific race cars in historical evolutions of the vehicle, from “the most technically advanced modern cars to historic classics, when victory really was all down to the driver’s skill.“
You will get to race F1 cars, ranging from the most modern to classics from the 30s, such as the Mercedes-Benz W25 Silver Arrow. US race content is also included with the IndyCar Series championship cars at Indionapolis. Germany’s DTM and Australia’s V8 Supercars series will also be playable, both featuring the 2005 season.
Getting away from the high octane action you will be able to take part in the 4×4 Monster Series or race the Baja Beetles off road over dirt charts. Over 40 championship circuits will be included in the game, including the Nurburgring and the Shanghai International Circuit.
TOCA Race Drive 3 is set for a February 2006 release on PC, Xbox and PS2 and it’s sounding well worth the wait.
