Ubisoft has announced that the Rabbids are to receive their own standalone brand with the Holiday 2009 release of comedy-adventure title Rabbids Go Home.

In development at Ubisoft Montpellier (Beyond Good & Evil, Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie and the original Rayman Raving Rabbids), Rabbids Go Home will benefit from a new engine designed specifically for the Wii. The Rabbids unleash their insanity onto the human world as they attempt to return to their Rabbid home.

The Rayman Raving Rabbids titles have sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide, and Ubisoft notes that moving the loveable characters to their own brand of games was a logical next step.
