Id Software and the QuakeCon organisation have announced that QuakeCon 2009 will take place August 13-16, 2009. The venue is the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas, and as always the event is free to all attendees.

QuakeCon 2009 will host North America’s largest Bring-Your-Own-Computer LAN with places for nearly 3,000 gamers to play on id’s world-class network. The event will also host big-money pro tournaments, featuring id’s free-to-play, web-based Quake LIVE.

QuakeCon will also offer fun and entertainment for those that don’t bring along a computer. The world’s leading gaming and technology companies will be on hand to demonstrate their latest hardware and software in a 35,000 square foot exhibition hall. Each day will also be packed with contests, announcements and panel discussions.

Online registration for QuakeCon will begin at 9:30pm EST / 6:30pm PST on March 6, 2009.
