Supergiant Games has released a gameplay video, as well as some 4K screens of its newly released title Pyre. In this video, Supergiant’s writer and game designer Greg Kasavin talks through the opening 25 minutes of the mysterious story with PlayStation Underground on their YouTube.

One particular high point for me in this video was the Rugby-esque approach to extinguishing the enemies pyre in battle. There are some fantastic animation sequences, and seamless transitions between in-game and cutscenes. If Supergiant were to make an animation, it’d be amazing. In the meantime, you can give their new game a try.

Pyre is an action RPG, where the player takes control of an exile who teams up with other exiles on a journey to purgatory, hoping to cleanse the taint on their souls by defeating yet more exiles. Your actions determine who’ll return to glory, and who remains in exile to the end of their days.

Pyre is out now on PS4 and PC.
