Sony Computer Entertainment has deemed the first Pursuit Force successful enough to warrant a sequel, only this time the PlayStation 2 is also getting in on the action too.

Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice follows hot on the heels of its predecessor, and promises new levels of speed and a fresh approach to law enforcement. The Pursuit Force is called upon to once again save Capital City from the gangs which terrorise its streets.

In the sequel players will have to defeat the Raiders, a gang specialised in high-pace ambushes; and The Syndicate, a gang of professional bank robbers. These new gangs have turned the city into an open warzone and the Pursuit Force now has Viper Division, a new heavy-handed rival arm of the police, to contend with.

Expect an array of new vehicles to jump between, such as gigantic tanks, trains, and even the wings of an aeroplane. At the player’s control will be a bunch of new vehicles such as a bike and sidecar, jet ski and a hovercraft. Players can seamlessly switch from ground combat to air-based vehicles, such as helicopters, to take down the enemy with mounted high calibre guns.

The PSP version includes four-player wi-fi, with the PlayStation 2 game supporting two-players via split screen. Also new to the series is a Justice Bar, giving players the ability to regain strength and prolong a mission, three difficulty levels, and a host of new recruits: Sarah (Air Support), Gage (High Speed Pursuit), Ash (Special Operations) and Preach (Heavy Assault).

Pursuit Force is scheduled for release on PSP and PlayStation 2 in the summer of 2007.
