The developer behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has confirmed that it is bringing a Training Mode into the mix as part of its ongoing 'Fix PUBG' initiative.

Training Mode does pretty much what you would expect, with players able to try out a bunch of features, including weapons and vehicles. In addition, you can also test your might at stuff like parachuting and vaulting, which you'll have to put to good use in a match if you ever want to secure that victory chicken dinner.

There's plenty of room to practice too, with Training Mode taking place on a desert-themed 2×2 km map featuring a shooting range, vehicle tracks, parkour course, and more.

'Training Mode was designed from the very beginning to have a living map–with room to introduce new areas as well as ideas players want to see implemented in the future,' commented PUBG Madison's senior designer, Dave Osei. 'We wanted to go beyond what players were asking for, so we didn't want the map to be just a shooting range, but an open, living map where players can test a variety of skills to their heart's content.'

There's no release date set yet for the new update, although PUBG Corp. has said it will launch at some point next month.

While on the subject of PUBG, Microsoft revealed at Gamescom this week that the Xbox One version of the battle royale shooter will launch as a full-fledged experience in early September. There's also PUBG controller up for grabs if you really want to show you much you want that poultry prize.

PUBG's latest PC update rolled out the other week, adding a scooter and new assault rifle into the mix.
