PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Creative Director Brendan Greene offered a brief glimpse at the game’s new 4×4 map during a panel at the Game Developers Conference 2018 last week.
Greene confirmed that the new battleground will be available on PUBG’s test servers soon, measures just 16 square kilometers as opposed to the traditional 64 square kilometers we’d normally see in battle royale juggernaut.
‘The first step in that is getting the 4-by-4 map in your hands much earlier, so we can get your feedback and really improve the map early in development, so when we finally release it it’s the best it can be,’ commented Greene.
Apparently, the map has something of a ‘southeast Asian feel’ to it and will be ‘much more intense’ than what we’re used to in PUBG. You can have a butcher’s at the new map in the screenshots below.
PUBG recently made the jump to mobile devices and has notched up five million players on Xbox One.
