Bluehole has added a new weapon and an assortment of balance tweaks to the PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds today, courtesy of update 12.

The poster boy for this latest patch is the SLR, a new type of DMR weapon that packs a mean punch with its 10-round capacity magazine of 7.62mm ammunition. While it suffers from some nasty recoil issues, it does boast more firepower than the SKSs and is probably something you should snap up.

Elsewhere, PUBG's new update kick starts a new ranked season for the every-man-for-himself shooter, while those of you who like getting into a ruck on the admittedly polarizing Miramar map can hop into a new vehicle, the Mirado. Found in the downtown areas of the map, the four-seater is pretty nippy, with the patch notes stating it offers the 'fastest way to blaze down a highway.'

Other highlights include a range of new attachments to toy around with, including the Duckbill and Half Grip, plus a boatload of weapon balance changes. Be sure to have a gander at the full PUBG update 12 patch notes here.

PUBG, known as That Other Battle Royale Game to Fortnite fans, has been clamping down on cheaters as of late, with news breaking earlier this week that a number of hack program creators had been arrested in China.
