The PlayStation 4 version of every-man-for-himself shooter PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is getting the Vikendi map as part of update 1.06, developer PUBG Corp. has announced.

PUBG's latest patch goes live today, and features a heap of quality of life improvements for the game, as well as the Vikendi Survivor Pass. This will last 10 weeks, and includes a total five mission types: Daily, Weekly, Beginner, Premium, and Challenge.

As for Vikendi itself, the map is covered in snow, which allows you to track footprints left behind by your enemies. In terms of how it plays out, the map is offers a more tactical edge than Sanhok, and is quicker than both Erangel and Miramar.

Oh, and you can also lob snowballs around at the starting area while waiting to board the plane. Excellent.

In addition to the above, PUBG update 1.06 also throws in two new weapons: The Skorpion and G36C, as well as new vehicle in the shape of the Snowmobile.

Be sure to have a butcher's at the full patch notes, where you'll find a heap of performance and bug fixing to tuck into.
