It seems folks who want to play Battle Royale game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be able to get their chicken dinner fix on the go soon, thanks to a deal struck between developer Bluehole and Chinese publisher Tencent.

As reported by MCV, the deal will see Tencent work on a mobile port of the shooter with original developer Bluehole. This is part of its new agreement to publish the game in China detailed in an announcement blog post (in Chinese) on the publisher’s website.

As previously reported, Tencent will also be tweaking PUBG to order to comply with parameters set by the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing association (CADPA) for Battle Royale games.

There’s no word on when the mobile version will release, other than the news that development is going ‘smoothly’ and it’ll see the light of the day in the ‘near-future’. We also don’t know if it’ll ever see the light of day in the West, but it’ll be interesting to see how the game translates to restrictions of a mobile device.

Meanwhile, Bluehole is gearing up for the Xbox One release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, set for launch into the Xbox Game Preview program from December 12.
