PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available to download for mobile platforms including iOS and Android, Tencent and PUBG Corp. have announced.

The battle royale title has been drumming up impressive numbers on both PC and Xbox One in the past few months, recently notching up an impressive five million downloads for Microsoft’s flagship console. Now, developer PUBG Corp. has teamed up with Tencent to bring the chicken dinner-giving shooter to new formats.

‘We chose to work with Tencent and their development studios because of their long-running history of high-quality mobile games and the level of love and support they put into their titles,’ commented PUBG Corp’s big cheese, Chang Han Kim.

The mobile edition of PUBG is based on the PC version of the game, and will apparently change people’s perceptions of mobile gaming in general. Presumably we can expect a decent conversion, as the press blurb says that PUBG Corp. and Tencent are set on ‘satisfying the high expectations of players’ who have been anticipating its mobile debut.

PUBG was recently named the third best-selling game on Steam by Valve’s Gabe Newell, while its creator has confirmed that it will start rolling out fresh content — including a brand new map — from next month.
