PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds developer PUBG. Corp is suing the Korean branch of Epic Games, accusing the Fortnite creator of copying elements of its popular battle royale title.

According to the Korean Times, PUBG Corp. filed the lawsuit back in January after previously stating that it was considering its options on how to respond to Fortnite's massively popular Battle Royale mode, which has made the game one of the biggest time sinks on the planet.

No further details are available at this time, with The Seoul Central District Court now left to determine whether or not Fortnite has plagiarised PUBG in any shape or form. A date for the court proceedings is currently unknown.

Interestingly, it's worth remembering that PUBG actually runs on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4.

PUBG Corp. previously targeted the Chinese company Netease for alleged copyright infringement of its popular last-man-standing-shooter (who in turn announced their intention to sue the companies who had copied them).

Both PUBG and Fortnite remain hugely successful in their own right, with both games receiving mobile iterations of the popular titles in addition to consoles. However, while PUBG is a paid-for game, Fortnite's battle royale incarnation is entirely free.
