PUBG Corp. has announced that gamers and streamers of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be going head-to-head in a Charity Showdown later this month.

They won't be competing for a chicken dinner though: Instead, there's a $1 million prize pool up for grabs, after which the winners will be able to donate to the charity of their choice. 40 PUBG pros and 40 broadcasters will be duking it out in the battle royale event, which will be streamed on Twitch.

Charity Showdown will take place across four matches set in PUBG's first map, Erangel, with each squad featuring two pro players and two broadcasting personalities. There's three different positions to compete for, with the prize pool broken down as follows:

-1st Place Squad: $600,000

-2nd Place Squad: $300,000

-3rd Place Squad: $100,000

The event kicks off Friday, July 27 at 5.00pm BST and will be held at Berlin's Mercedes-Benz Arena during the PUBG Global Invitational 2018.

While we're on the subject of PUBG, the PC version of the popular shooter is now hosting custom matches via its test servers, while the Xbox One edition has just received a new update.
