The first gameplay trailer for Psychonauts 2 was revealed last night at The Game Awards, and it looks suitably kooky.

The trailer sees Raz swinging from the treetops, bouncing around, and… hurling a goat with the power of his mind. Perhaps they had done him wrong? Check out the trailer below:

We also get to see the Psychonaut HQ, called the Motherlobe, which looks like a supervillain’s lair – replete with a jet and a funky paint job.

The trailer also confirms that the game is due for release in 2019. Originally, Psychonauts 2 was supposed to be out this year, but developer Double Fine, who is publishing the game, announced in January that the game needed longer in the oven.

The sequel is being developed by Starbreeze, the talented developer behind The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness. It will be interesting to see the direction the studio takes the game in compared to Double Fine’s work on the original.

Recently, Stabreeze has been going through some financial difficulty, and has filed for reconstruction.
