The new software update is available now from yourpsp.com. Click on ‘help and advice’ and you should then see a PSP Software Update section along the bottom. The latest software update brings with it a few new features that should make your PSP experience a little more satisfying. First off there is now support for RSS. RSS is basically an easy way to receive updates from the websites you like to visit, with new content being reported to you once it goes live. However, it appears that the PSP’s RSS functionality is currently limited to receiving podcasts, which is a shame, but still a cool feature for those into that kind of thing.
There is also added support for playback of WMA media files, but an internet connection is required to activate this functionality. WMA9 Professional, WMA9 Lossless and copyright-protected files are not supported. There are some other lesser updates, all of which are detailed over at yourpsp.com.
