Following the repercussions of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Hot Coffee – a secret sex scene could be accessed – you’d think Rockstar would be treading extra carefully with its release of Manhunt 2, but it appears not.

After successfully getting the game passed by the ESRB and achieving an M rating, granting the game a release in North America, it appears as though further trouble for the developer and publisher could be just around the corner.

It’s been reported that hackers have already modified the PSP version of Manhunt 2 to enable content which had previously been censored.

Back in July 2006, Take-Two Interactive Software announced that a Consent Order has been approved, stating: “the Company shall not misrepresent a video game’s ratings or content descriptors and that the Company shall implement a system to ensure that all game content is reviewed in connection with submissions to ratings authorities.“

The publisher may not face repercussions this time though, with the reinstated Manhunt 2 content only being accessible by those able to modify the original game code. This is not a modification which can be accessed by all.

Manhunt 2 went on sale across North America for Wii, PS2 and PSP at the end of October, but the game is still banned from release in the UK after failing to be granted a BBFC rating on its second attempt.
