Sony has acknowledged that PSN is currently facing “connectivity issues” and warned users that they may experience issues when attempting to log in to the service.

In a message posted on the US support site Sony recognised that PSN is currently “intermittently available”, adding that the network is “currently experiencing high volume and users may experience issues when connecting to the service. We will update you with any changes that may occur in regards to this issue. Thank you for your patience.”

PlayStation UK, meanwhile, claims that only a “small number” of users are experiencing issues with PSN. It says that it is “investigating the matter as a priority”.

The high volume of users is no doubt linked to the launch of the Destiny beta, which rolled out on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 earlier this evening.

It isn’t known when normal service may be resumed.
