A future PS4 system update will upgrade Twitch live streaming to 720p, bringing the functionality in-line with what the Xbox One is capable off, Sony has announced. Twitch on PS4 currently broadcasts at 960×540 30fps at approximately 1.7 Mbps.
In addition, streamers will be able to make use of the DualShock 4’s SHARE button to archive Twitch streams.
This system update will be separate to the HDCP-off update due in the “coming weeks”.
