PlayStation 4 has sold 1 million units in the UK which, according to MCV, makes it the second fastest-selling home console in the country of all time.

The console was only beaten by Wii, which managed to achieve the milestone 4 weeks faster than PS4.

Sony announced last month that PS4 had sold 10 million units worldwide and has previously stated that sales are “way, way out in front” of earlier PlayStation consoles.

Despite its success, though, Sony admits that sales of the console have seen a “slight cooling” in the UK over the past two weeks as customers wait for the Destiny bundle arriving in stores today.

“I’m talking several percentages [of cooling] – but a little bit of hold back in terms of the sell-through in the last two weeks – for obvious reasons,” PlayStation UK MD Fergal Gara told Digital Spy. “[The Destiny bundle] is a great package at a great price, but you can’t have it until [today]. But what are you going to do? You’re going to wait, aren’t you!”

Microsoft has yet to update its Xbox One sales figures since April.
