Sony has announced that it has sold more than 525 million PlayStation consoles worldwide since 1994. To celebrate the milestone, the company is launching a Limited Edition 500 Million version of the PS4 Pro.

The swanky special edition console will be limited to just 50,000 units, and will retail for $499.99. It's more than just a bog-standard PS4 Pro, though.

For starters, the 500 Million Limited Edition features a translucent design in a catching dark blue paint job with matching DualShock 4 controller. Not only that, but it adds a 2TB hard drive, PlayStation Camera, and Vertical Stand.

Those of you lucky enough to snap one up will also receive a commemorative copper plate, featuring a limited edition serial number. Select consoles also have important dates etched onto them, such those marking the US launch of the original PlayStation and the PS4.

Sony also confirmed it will flog the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 separately for $64.99, as well as a matching Gold Wireless Headset featuring a translucent design for $99.99.
