A new PS3 firmware update has been released in an attempt to combat the recently released PSJailbreak – a USB hack which enables users to copy games to the console’s hard drive and play without the game disc in the console.
Sony Computer Entertainment America’s director of hardware marketing John Koller described firmware 3.42 as a “minor update to your PS3 system” which features “additional security features”.
It’s been confirmed on many message boards that the firmware does prevent PSJailbreak from being used.
