Red Dead Redemption is officially joining the Extra tier for Sony’s subscription service next month, meanwhile, PS Plus Extra and Premium is losing nine games in December 2025. The departures will occur on December 16th, and the games leaving are as follows:
- Arcade Paradise VR
- Battlefield 2042
- Firefighting Simulator – The Squad
- Forspoken
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Sonic Frontiers
- Star Trek Bridge Crew
- Star Wars Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge
- Surviving Mars
In addition to all the above, don’t forget the following Essential games will leave on December 2nd:
- Stray
- EA Sports WRC 24
- Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
Red Dead Redemption Remaster Joining PS Plus December 2025
Red Dead Redemption is set to join PS Plus Extra on December 2nd. This is also the same date as the monthly games will release. We don’t know the inbound monthly games as of writing, but they should be announced on November 26th.
In addition to just being one of the greatest games of all time, the addition of Red Dead Redemption is exciting because it’s the current-gen remaster. As per Rockstar’s official announcement, the remaster will run at a “smooth 60 frames per second,” and it also packs “enhanced image quality, HDR support, and resolutions up to 4K”.
Away from PS Plus, if you already own the PS4 port of RDR, the good news is that you will be eligible for a free upgrade to the PS5 version. You will also be able to utilize your PS4 save so you don’t have to start all over again slaving away for Bonnie Macfarlane.
While RDR is coming back better than ever in just a couple of weeks, insiders have insisted that the heavily rumored Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster is still coming, too. There’s no ETA for when it will arrive, but hopefully it will come out in 2026 as compensation for the second delay of GTA 6.
November 2025 Extra and Premium Games Out Now
December is already shaping up nicely with the confirmation of Red Dead Redemption, but today marks the release of the PS Plus November 2025 Extra and Premium games:
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Pacific Drive
- Still Wakes The Deep
- Insurgency Sandstorm
- Thank Goodness You’re Here
- The Talos Principle 2
- Monster Jam Showdown
- MotoGP 25
- Tomb Raider Anniversary (Premium)
All of the above are fantastic additions, but what we’re looking forward to most of all is a fan-made Courage The Cowardly Dog game coming to Dreams. Media Molecule’s Dreams is already part of PS Plus Extra, and it will allow you to play the Courage game entirely for free when it releases on November 28th.
While Tomb Raider Anniversary is part of PS Plus Premium, you can buy it from the PSN store similar to Tomb Raider Legend for £15.99. Although the PS2 ports of Legend and Anniversary are great, they unfortunately come at the expense of an LAU trilogy remaster.
