Sony has confirmed that Skate Story is joining PS Plus in December 2025. It is set to release day-one for the Extra tier on December 8, and it looks great. You play as a skateboarding demon made of glass and pain, and you are granted the freedom to ride a skateboard by who else but Lucifer himself, the Devil.

You will have a variety of moves and tricks available to pull off, and these snazzy tricks will be useful in defeating bosses. There is a combo meter you will need to increase, and the game has a gorgeous and unique art style that is truly unlike anything else.

Besides skateboarding and pulling off mad skills, you will meet weird and zany characters who need assistance. These characters include a giant skull with scissors in its mouth, a pillowy demon, and a giant frog. Oh, and you are also accompanied by a ghostly rabbit called Rabbie.

As you’d expect from a game all about skating, you will also be able to customize your board. Performing stunts will reward you with soul currency, and you can spend souls to buy wheels, stickers, and other decorations at gift shops.

Unlike Xbox Game Pass, day-one releases are rare for PS Plus. However, we have been blessed with great day-one additions this year. There was Blue Prince, which Shuhei Yoshida was right about hailing as a GOTY contender, and there was also Sword of the Sea, which was “saved” thanks to releasing on PS Plus.

PS Plus December 2025 games

The PS Plus December 2025 Essential games should be announced on November 26. Besides Skate Story, Sony has also confirmed Red Dead Redemption Remaster is joining PS Plus Extra on December 2.

You only have until December 2 to claim the November 2025 Essential offering of Stray, WRC 24, and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. There are also nine games set to leave Extra and Premium on December 16:

  • Arcade Paradise VR
  • Battlefield 2042
  • Firefighting Simulator – The Squad
  • Forspoken
  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • Sonic Frontiers
  • Star Trek Bridge Crew
  • Star Wars Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge
  • Surviving Mars

Before the month of Christmas arrives, we highly recommend downloading Dreams, which is already part of PS Plus Extra. This is because an amazing fan-made Courage the Cowardly Dog game is releasing in Dreams on November 28, and you will be able to play it at no added cost.
