The team on Project Rap Rabbit has released a concept gameplay video that’s like the fever dream of a child after a disastrous trip to a petting zoo.

In the video the rabbit protagonist Toto-Maru gets into a rap battle with an ex-military snake. The whole exchange is rapped by Keiichi Yano, one of the developers and the creator of Gitaroo Man.

At this stage it’s only a proof of concept: it’s made clear at the end of the video that this is early development and not representative of the final project. The music and lyrics are all works in progress, and the full game is intended to have 3D backgrounds.

Project Rap Rabbit is a collaboration between the developers of Gitaroo Man and PaRappa the Rapper, which was remastered for PS4 recently. Project Rap Rabbit is currently struggling to hit its target on Kickstarter.
