At long last, may we present you with what has consumed our lives for the past six months: the revamped Pro-G. Whilst it may look fairly similar to the old site, there is actually little that has remained the same. The entire site has been rebuilt and redesigned with the latest technologies – the front end, back end, and Content Management System – so that we may finally build on the ideas and unique new features we’ve had on paper for way too long.

The first thing you’ll hopefully notice is the new design and layout. We’ve done our best to ensure that you’re able to see all the latest articles and happenings in the world of video games without being overwhelmed by too much information. We’ve also tried to minimize the number of ads you have to put up with – you can be safe in the knowledge that we’ll never spam you with pop-ups or intrusive ads on Pro-G, no matter how much green is put in front of us!
A major new addition to the site is Cheats. While no one really likes to admit that they cheat at games, we all know that it’s necessary from time to time, and that looking in a guide has to be done when you’re really stuck. Now you can find all the cheats you need right here, either with our cheat search or by navigating to the game and clicking on the cheats tab. We have over 9,000 of them in the database at the moment, with more added all throughout the week. Whether it’s cheat codes, hints, FAQs, savegames, trainers, mods, maps or action replay codes that you’re after- you name it, it’s there! All these wonderful cheats are provided by our new partner, CheatHappens.com – be sure to check them out.
One other main addition is the ability to comment on every item added to the site, whether you’re a registered member or not. If you’ve got an opinion on the latest news, review or set of screenshots, we want to hear about it. You can also vent your inner thoughts (the clean ones, anyway…) on our brand new forum, which also has Xbox Live GamerTag integration, so you can take those heated discussions and settle them online.
Also, be sure to check out the Classifieds Forum, complete with a nifty eBay-style feedback system. It’s a safe place to buy and sell gaming goods, so if you’ve got a few games or DVDs gathering dust, start a For Sale thread and make a few quid.

We know that you might not have the chance to stay glued to Pro-G all day long, but that’s no reason to fall behind on the latest gaming news, reviews, and hot forum topics. Our brand-new newsletter is delivered to your email inbox every Friday morning and contains a round-up of all the main stories and articles of the week. New users can sign-up to receive the newsletter when they create a Pro-G account, while existing users can select the option in their account preferences.
Long-time Pro-G members will know that the Arcade is the perfect place to kill those long hours at work. We’ll be adding more games as time goes on, but for now you’ll have to settle for the classics: Tetris, Space Invaders, Snake, and a particular favourite of mine, Chopper Challenge, which might just be the hardest game ever made.
We also have a lot of very exciting stuff in the pipeline which will be rolled out over the coming months.
This is Adam signing off, with what is probably my first and last news post if Tom has anything to do with it. Please feel free to leave your opinions of the site (good or bad) on the spanking new comments system below and hopefully I’ll see some of you milling around the forums later on.
