It’s official – next generation Pro Evolution Soccer begins on October 27, which, as some of you might have already figured out, means PES6 will arrive on Xbox 360 on the same day FIFA 07 is released on the console.
PSP and Nintendo DS versions are also on the way, but Konami won’t say a date, merely stating that they will follow shortly after.
PES has always been focused on the gameplay, rather than swish visuals, presentation and licensed teams, but this year things are certainly looking more positive on these fronts. The Xbox 360 version will be playable in high definition and for the first time in a widescreen aspect ratio. Other next-gen benefits include improved visuals and audio, plus more advanced AI. In addition, the game will feature a number of licensed international and club teams.
“This is the date all football fans have been waiting for,” commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing and PR Director for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. “October 27th will see established Pro Evolution Soccer fans looking to get their hands on the latest version, while we are delighted to be bringing the first Next Generation version to Xbox 360 users, and taking the many delights of Pro Evolution Soccer to an all-new audience.“
Look out for a review as we get closer to the game’s release.
