The Game Awards 2019 nominations have been announced and they are reminding me of what a wild year it’s been for the industry. Heaps and heaps of games have been tipped for heaps and heaps of awards, and there are some awesome aspirants for a few of the accolades.

Expectedly, Death Stranding is peppered in for a smattering of awards, but it will contend with Resident Evil 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Control, and The Outer Worlds for Game of the Year. All are VIGs, so it’s all to play for. Sayonara Wild Hearts is up for Best Art Direction which is lovely to see, and Kind Words is nominated as one of 2019’s Games for Impact.
