Zoo Digital has announced that their next instalment in the Premier Manager series, unsurprisingly titled Premier Manager 2006, is due for release on PC, PS2 and the GBA in August – rather coincidentally in the same month as the new footy season kicks off.

The new game will let wannabe managers pick from 10,000 players, spanning 14 divisions across the UK and Europe. While the PC market is currently owned by SEGA’s Football Manager series, a console equivalent isn’t available. The best console owners can get is Championship Manager, so Premier Manager certainly has a chance of success on the PlayStation 2. GBA owners may also fancy a bit of management action (although we expect this version to be lacking the more complex features) when the game is released this August.

Whether or not you’ll be able to use special cheating powers when managing Chelsea hasn’t been confirmed.
