Razer’s Hydra, a futuristic PC motion controller from the upmarket hardware developer, was being showcased this weekend at CES and, amongst dazzling the world with its fancy technology, featured Portal 2 content created exclusively for the device by Valve.

In an extensive hands-on at Joystiq, it was revealed that the Hydra would come in a bundle with Portal 2 when launched in April.

The “Portal 2 bundle will include a special version of the game, that includes not only native support for the Hydra controllers, but new maps and puzzle mechanics built exclusively for Hydra.”

There were no further specifications about how much new and exclusive content will be included.

Razer’s Hydra hasn’t been officially priced, but Razer is intending to launch the two-stick motion controller device for less than $100 – approximately the price of two PlayStation Move controllers.

The Razer Hydra works by using a small base station which creates an electromagnetic field with a radius of approximately six feet.

Despite the clearly impressive technology we’re still not entirely convinced by a motion controller for the PC, but Valve’s endorsement of the device bodes well for its future.
