Pokémon Sword and Shield will add Gigantamax Snorlax to Max Raids beginning on December 4 (via Serebii).

An active Nintendo Switch Online membership is needed to find Gigantamax Snorlax in the Wild Area, who looks to be a straightforward three-star Raid. Gigantamax Snorlax is one of the strongest Dynamax Pokémon discovered, and the snacks hidden in its fur have sprouted into trees and foliage on its enormous tummy. Its exclusive G-Max move makes its Normal-type attacks change to G-Max Replenish.

G-Max Replenish clobbers the opposing Pokémon and it restores the Berries that the party have wolfed down during the battle. The design is silly and splendid, and it seems that Game Freak will support Sword and Shield with these rolling updates. Gigantamax Snorlax will disappear in early January, though the developer has mentioned that it’s not set in stone.

Pokémon Sword and Shield is available for Nintendo Switch. Check out the announcement trailer below.
