Gamers around the UK proved that they still have the gotta catch ’em all bug sending Pokemon Ranger straight to the top of the All Formats chart, knocking Ubisoft’s TMNT down to No.2.
Wii Play, thanks to strong availability, surges up the chart from No.24 all the way to No.3, but it is the Nintendo DS which sees the most success. In addition to Pokemon Ranger, Harvest Moon DS takes fourth spot and Hotel Dusk: Room 215 charts at No.22 – both games having failed to make the Top 40 in their first week on sale. DS exclusives currently hold seven places in the All Formats chart.
Two new PS3 games made their way to retail last week: F.E.A.R. manages No.17 in the All Formats (also available on Xbox 360 and PC) and No.3 in the PS3 chart; and The Godfather: Don’s Edition fails to make the All Formats but places at No.10 in the PS3 chart.
New releases to look forward to include Buzz! The Mega Quiz, Tetris Evolution, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for PS3, Singstar Pop Hits and Burnout Dominator on PSP. However, the only game likely to take the top spot away from Pokemon is God of War II for the PS2.
