Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold a combined 1,534,593 units in Japan over its launch weekend of November 21-23, reports Famitsu.
Sales don’t include digital purchases from the Nintendo eShop.
This makes the reworked 3DS titles the fourth biggest launch in Japan for the handheld, behind Pokemon X/Y, Monster Hunter 4 and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
The catch ’em all games helped boost 3DS hardware sales from 51,390 units to 83,129 week-on-week.
The pair of titles arrive in UK stores and the eShop on Friday.
