The Pokémon Company International has announced Pokémon Home will get its 2.0 update in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
The update will finally add support for the three most recent games in the popular series; Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Once updated, players will be able to store their collected creatures in the cloud and share them between Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee and mobile entry Pokémon Go.
As per the announcement, there are a few caveats to consider. First off, you can only transfer monsters that appear in their respective games to said titles. The app’s Help menu on the mobile edition will offer a complete list per game. Also, because Pokémon: Legends Arceus is set in the past in the series’ continuity, monsters will appear in Strange Balls regardless of what Poké Balls they were originally caught in.
To celebrate the update, The Pokémon Company is also offering some bonuses to those that link the games together. Depositing a monster from Pokémon Legends: Arceus into Pokémon Home will nab themselves a Rowlet, Cyndaquil, & Oshawott as Mystery Gifts. Do the same with a monster from Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and you’ll get a Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup instead.
You can check out the full details of the Pokémon Home 2.0 update over on the official website. Meanwhile the next mainline entry in the series will be Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, due later this year.
