Pokemon GO’s world domination takes one step closer to completion with news that the game has now launched in Japan.

The launch is supported by a McDonald’s sponsorship, turning 3000 restaurant locations into Pokemon GO Gyms.

News of the McDonald’s partnership leaked and is reported to have resulted in the game’s release being pushed back a few days in order to make sure servers could cope with demand.

It hasn’t taken long for Japan’s gaming celebs to get in on the action, with Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida posting pics of him playing the game – at least we assume it’s him.
