6.1 million adults have downloaded and installed Pokemon GO since its release on July 14, with an impressive 5.3 million still playing the augmented reality game, a survey conducted by YouGov on 25,000 people has revealed.

An active player is classed as someone who has played the game in the previous week.

The findings show that 16 per cent of players have spent money on in-app purchases, with 110,000 spending only 79p, but 600,000 having parted with anything from 80p to £14.99. See the chart below for even greater spending habits.

As you would expect around two in three of the app’s users are aged 18-34, but that still leaves millions of players who are aged 35 or older.

Remember that the stats from YouGov don’t include usage of those under 18.
