The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have announced that Pokemon Black Version and Pokemon White Version, featuring the next generation of all-new Pokemon, will be released for Nintendo DS in spring 2011 across Europe and North America.
Additionally, the companies revealed that new Legendary Pokemon Reshiram (Pokemon Black Version) and Zekrom (Pokemon White Version) will be featured on the covers.
“It’s rare to find a franchise with such worldwide appeal and dedicated fans as Pokemon,” said Laurent Fischer, managing director marketing and PR, Nintendo of Europe. “We’re excited to inform our fans that this eagerly anticipated adventure, featuring an all-new generation of Pokemon, will be available in Europe in spring 2011.”
The recently launched Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver have now sold more than 8.4 million copies worldwide. The series as a whole has shifted more than 207 million units since its inception 14 years ago.
