Good news for anyone who’s PlayStation Plus subscription has recently lapsed or they haven’t got one for any other reason, as Sony has announced details of their Open Multiplayer event which will run from this Wednesday November 15 through Monday, November 20.

As detailed on the PlayStation EU blog, the event will see the PS Plus subscription, usually a requirement to play multiplayer on the PlayStation 4, lifted allowing anyone to play any game they own with online multiplayer on the console for free from 10am GMT Wednesday until the same time on Monday morning.

There’s no limit to which games you’re allowed to play, and no additional sign-up is required, just boot up your PlayStation and you should be good to go. Only multiplayer will be unlocked for this period and no other benefits of the usual subscription, so you’ll still need to sign up as usual to the service if you want this month’s free games, which include Bound and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
