Sony has announced it’s to launch three new DualSense controller colours as well as five PlayStation 5 console covers from January 2022.
As revealed on the PlayStation blog, you’ll be able to grab a new controller for your PS5 in Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple next month. They’re a continuation of the Galaxy-inspired colour schemes that started earlier this year with Midnight Black and Cosmic Red.
However, as a new addition the company has also announced you’ll be able to get all five colours as new console covers. Previously, with the PlayStation 4 if you wanted a different coloured console, you’d have to buy an entirely new one. (Or a third party service) With these new official covers, you’ll be able to remove your existing PlayStation 5 cover, and slip on a fancy new colour in its place.
The new console covers will be released on a rolling basis, starting with Midnight Black and Cosmic Red in January 2022 in the regions below. The other three colours—Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple—will follow “during the first half of 2022” though a specific date has not been given. Sony say they’ll also release the covers in other territories over the coming year, and will announce details when available.
