The Brighton-based Wish Studios, who developed PlayLink games That's You! and Knowledge is Power, and employed 13 full-time employees, is closing down, the developer has announced.

Wish was recently seeking funding, as well as a publisher for a new project, but was sadly unsuccessful in finding either.

In a statement issued earlier today, CEO Caspar Field said, 'our ethos was to put the team and their creativity at the heart of everything we did; having to say goodbye to those people has been an unbelievably difficult thing to do.'

He added that 'It is truly heartbreaking. We would like to thank the Wish team, past and present, for their incredible contributions, and hope that they’ll carry the best of what Wish was into their future careers.'

Joined by Paul Brooke and Tom Bennett, Field set up the company over six years ago, which was probably best known for That's You!, which was the first PlayLink game on PlayStation 4. It allowed players to use their phones and tablets as controllers, bridging the gap between those who play games and those who don't.

Field finished by saying, 'We’d also like to thank Sony for believing in the PlayLink concept, and, more than anything else, we’d like to thank all those who played and enjoyed our games – because that’s what it’s all about.'
