Peter Molyneux has revealed that the amount of blood and gore in upcoming action RPG Fable III will vary depending on how players tackle the game.

Should players choose to go down the path of evil their character’s weapons will grow to reflect this – one example is a sword dripping with the blood of innocent victims. Likewise, play good and your weapons won’t be coated in the red stuff.

“Violence is part of the combat. We spent a long time thinking of the teen audience, and we decided [ensuring Fable III would be available to teens] was a very hard goal to aim for, if the game was to have any sense of freedom to it.

“It’s very simple: We listened to the Fable community. We found the more evil players wanted more gore and the ‘good’ players didn’t. They can make their own choices – and their weapon is aligned to that.”

Sounds bloody good to us.

Fable III is set for release this holiday season.
