Activision and Platinum Games have partnered again for third-person action game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.

In the game players will protect The Big Apple from aliens, mutants and the Foot Clan in a single-player campaign, with the join-up with up to three friends in four-player online co-op.

Each Turtle has a unique combat style and can be customised with Ninjutsu moves, combat items and special bonuses.

The visuals are looking rather swish thanks to a cel-shaded art design, whilst the story comes from IDW Publishing’s acclaimed ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series writer, Tom Waltz.

TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan is scheduled for a summer release on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows via Steam.

After watching the trailer, we’re pretty convinced Platinum has borrowed quite a bit from its hugely enjoyable robot romp, Transformers Devastation.
