Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare will launch for PS4 and PS3 on August 22, EA and PopCap Games have announced.

Already released on Xbox One and Xbox 360, and with a PC version coming June 27, the game has successfully taken the hit tower defense title and turned it into a popular class-based multiplayer shooter.

The PS4 version runs at 1080p and 60 frames per second.

“Our players have already vanquished more than 400 million plants and zombies, and we can’t wait for PlayStation gamers to add to this total,” said Brian Lindley, producer on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare. “They’ll see how accessible, yet deep, the gameplay is, and will get endless hours of fun out of the game.”

Pre-order from today to receive two digital card packs and PlayStation exclusive customisation for both plants and zombies characters including Hat Packs from Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess.

Remote Play is also supported via PS Vita.

Both version will feature two 12 vs. 12 modes called Garden & Graveyards and Team Vanquish, and or a four-player co-operative mode called Garden Ops. PS4 players will also have access to split-screen gameplay and Boss Mode.
