Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is getting a free DLC pack tomorrow, March 8, introducing a new map, Backyard Battleground quests and more, PopCap has announced.

The ‘Graveyard Variety Pack’ will be available for free on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and includes a remade version of the original game’s Garden Center map called ‘Aqua Center’, new Backyard Battleground missions, new “gameplay and control options”, and a night-time version of the game’s existing Great White North map.

There’ll also be some major changes made to Rose, who is being rebalanced to fill a support role rather than a primary assault character.

“This is an important topic for many of you and we’ve received tons of valuable player feedback related to her ability to deal damage in the game,” Garden Warfare’s creative director wrote on the game’s website. “Rose was conceived as a support role/specialist, not a primary damage dealer, and we’ve been working on rebalancing her to fit that role.”

PopCap describes the pack as the “first free content update”, suggesting more free DLC may be due to arrive in the future.

Garden Warfare 2 released on PS4, Xbox One and PC at the end of February, debuting at No.2 in the UK charts.
